About

Hello, my name is Hannah!

I am a self-taught herbalist and student of nature. I grew up in the woods making bizarre weeds & mushroom "stews", building tree houses, and gathering wildflowers with my siblings in the woods.  My childhood past-time has grown into an overwhelming passion to bring the beauty, usefulness and healing powers of herbs and wildflowers to others!

I live within the North Eastern United States and I write about herbs seasonally (as they are blooming and growing). So if you live in this area, keep an eye out for the plants I'm sharing about! Otherwise, search the blog for the plant you're wanting to learn more about.

So many of these little plants have amazing healing properties, delicious tastes, or fascinating uses - it would be selfish not to share what I have learned so far...

Many people have no idea of the bounty beneath their feet in their yards, gardens, or woods. Medicinal wildflowers & herbs have a lot to offer the modern-day consumer. Absolutely free, courtesy of Mother Nature herself.

What if you could learn how to naturally be healthy and improve your health by using Nature's best medicine - herbs? That's what I'm trying to do here. Encourage herbalism as a lifestyle for everyone to enjoy. It is enjoyable & rewarding!

Please know and remember: I am NOT a doctor or scientist or botanist. I do research thoroughly each herb that I write about and share. I use my own knowledge as well as published reputable herbal guides to identify, store and harvest each herb. I make sure to try them myself as well, first, before I recommend a usage for others. Keep in mind, I am not an expert (yet!) Just an eager student of herbalism and nature.

If I make a mistake or share something that you believe is incorrect or unhealthy, please tell me. Otherwise, be smart and careful when you are identifying, gathering and using herbs! My rule of thumb is unless three (or more) published herbal experts tell me it's okay to use an herb in a certain way, I don't do it. Using herbs can be healthy, beneficial, and fun! However just like anything else in life, moderation is everything, caution saves lives, and read the directions first.
